Anyways, have I told you how much I LOVE this place? It's absolute paradise! I'd love to live here for good. :) This morning was absolutely gorgeous. The pastures were misting, and it was just so breath-taking. I seriously do not look forward to the day I have to leave. LOL. anyways, check out this picture I took. Gorgeous, huh?
Yesterday was interesting, as usual. Our lesson that day consisted of barefoot trimming. And I found out it wasn't as hard as I originally thought. It's just a matter of knowing how the hoof is supposed to look, and trimming it to that point. The hard part was getting used to the tools. Chase was brilliant, as usual. He stood stock still for me, with the occasional loss of balance, but he was so patient as I fumbled with the tools. After that, we had a day of cleaning. To be truthful, I was SO unmotivated to do that. But we befuddled around, and I found out swiffer jets can be fun. :D The pads don't last too long, though. Anyways, afterwards, we (erica, adency, and I) decided to play out front with our ponies. Did I mention what AMAZING riders those two are? I hope one day I can be as skilled a rider as them. Anyways, I realized Chase had a lot of energy-and that he was unconfident over the bridge. It was interesting though-he'd approach it slowly, and go on confident, and then bolt off. That's also the pattern that he does with the trailer. How interesting..hmmm....:D Anyways, not knowing what to do with that, I brought him into the arena-and found myself standing in like four inches of muck. The storm had been intense the night before. Anyways, I figured we could padder along anyways-I wasn't having TOO much trouble originally. So I closed the gate, and let Chase loose, wanting to play 'tag'. Well...he took off, and galloped SIX laps. SIX. At full speed. The arena is HUGE, btw. Big enough that you could comfortabley put ten people and ten horses there and play online on the twenty two, and have room for more. Anyways, there was no stopping the red fireball as he blazed around. And seriously, he was enjoying himself so much-he's never full out galloped like that before-he's not had the room to. And plus...he was sooo pretty. With the sun blanketing his back, and how smoothly he was moving.....my gosh. It was breath-taking. If only I had brought the camera along. And the ending with the tail high-he could put any arab in the entire place to shame, I swear.
Anyways, after that I decided he had had enough, hosed him down, and put him back in his pen. Went out and got chief to ride-mmm....that didn't go so well. He was everything BUT cooperative. ...Anyways, I have too much to cover in too little time. It's already 10 past 11, and I have to get up at 5:30 to help Farrah bathe Fission. I'll take pics, I assure you! and Part 2 of this blog will come up tomorrow too. :D Caoi!
