It came back to haunt me

Today was pretty interesting. Chase wasn't the wild child I thought he would be-instead he was rather the opposite. He was willing, but he was thinking about it as well. It was pretty dramatic from his spurts of extreme LBE behaviors from the past couple of days. It also forced me to be flexible-which presented quite a challenge. As usual, had a few laughs when he tried to 'kill' the tarp. Aletia was with us, btw. He was really willing, and light. Allowing him to choose which direction he went so many times came back to haunt me today-as usual when I tried to get him to change directions he resisted. I brought him in close enough to tap his nose in the other direction with the carrot stick. Took him a few more times-he tried refusing to come in a straight line to resist, but I was insistant. Finally, he got the game, and went 'nya nya' to the carrot stick when I signaled him in the other direction (he went with a very big snotty head toss). This of course, had me rolling in laughter too. When we were grooming him, he didn't want to pick up his hooves, and wiggled a bit, but with patient and passive persistance, and a lot of rubbing and 'good boy' after, we succeeded. :) He really likes his groomings. When we first came into the arena, Comet and part of his family were in there, working. Working, because it was obviously not play. Neither horse nor rider looked like they were enjoying it very well. The horse was extremely irritated. It reminds me why sticking to the parelli path and making a difference is so important. Today, Chase also reminded me how badly we need our level two. It'll be in by next week, hopefully. I'm hoping to grab the 22 ft line, or the 25 ft line at tractor supply. Gah! It'll be a substitute until I can get the real thing-it's cheap and we need to progress. Anyways, tonight's song is 'love story' by taylor swift. Hope you all have a good night!
