Yes, it is 3am. Unfortunately, I'm finding it near impossible to sleep. So I figured, hey, let's post another blog post. Why not? I just got through a few savvy vault videos-been looking up more and more about riding. I actually had to turn off the last video I saw-which was a demonstration of Linda and her students riding finesse. Linda's horse looked so happy and so PROUD to be ridden with finesse, but the other horses didn't have quite as happy looks on their faces-maybe its that it is uncomfortable or some other reason-but the difference between Linda's horse and their horses was DEAFENING. I would really like to know why. Meanwhile, I've been spending quite a bit of time on youtube, and I have to say one girl's love for her horse Tobie has really touched my heart. She doesn't do parelli-she's what some on the forum would call a 'normal', but she loved her horse with a passion. Unfortunately, the horse was randomly sold out from underneath her-which I think is terrible. No one should have to go through that, especially not the people that love their horses as intensely as she did. Catie, if you come across this post, I feel for you.
For those who are interested, here's one of the videos that brought me to attention.
Yes, Miley Cyrus song-OH NO!
The second thing I'd like to discuss is motivation. Which is one thing I've found in the past couple of weeks I've lacked. Really, the core of it is the cold. Its intensely hard for me to go anywhere where it is cold, even with tons of layers. Plus I just haven't had any idea where to progress. Or I have, but I haven't been motivated enough to do so. But good news-I've really become motivated, and I have a list of things to do now! WHOO. Makes me think of Erin....man I miss her. Intensely. So, basically, what the list contrives of is one-using the rope to play porcupine games with his feet. Two-making sideways more provocative by asking for only two steps, three steps sideways away, sideways towards, and so on. More friendly game and driving game in zone five. Playing with the idea of cutting, as well as spins. Alright. I can't think of anything else to write, so I guess I'll just head to bed. Night! Hopefully for real this time!
Glad to hear that you're learning from and enjoying the Savvy Vault videos! Have you been on Parelli Connect yet? You can find a lot of video footage there, including all the Level 1 videos!
