Slowly Returning Back to Action

Actually didn't play with Vegas today.  But I did play with Chase for about twenty minute, online.  In that twenty minutes, he once again showed me how much of a partnership it can really be.  By the end of those twenty minutes, it was like I was flying a kite through the patterns, and we were really feeling each others energy and connecting.  I really think that people who believe that horses aren't intelligent creatures haven't felt real connection from a horse-because once you do, there's just no denying it.  It suddenly becomes apparent that you're working with a creature with the same intelligence level or higher as yours, only they think in different ways.  It's something you can just feel and see in the way they interact with you.  He did trip about twice through those twenty minutes, so I'm sure his stifle is still bothering him some.  Which means more time off-about three days worth, I'm guessing.  I'll do some more research and grab some MSM when I can.

In the meantime, I'm at work trying to put together the natural horsemanship study group at RM.  I need to call everyone to see what time works best, but we're shooting for 5pm on Wednesdays.  My goal with this group is to get more people interested, and basically have fun and bring people together.  I'll have to plan the first meeting out-as what exactly we're going to do.  I'm thinking of bringing my LHB course over, or some savvy dvds, and letting people pick what they want to watch, and bringing snacks and coffee, and/hot chocolate.  We'll go from there, I figure.  But it'd be fun, I thought, to have the study group meetings on wednesdays, and then figure out a day/time when we could all have playdays.  We'll have to put funds together to buy equipment, as I only have two rope halters and two twenty-two foot lines, and one working knock off carrot stick.  I'll let you know how it goes.    :)
