First Liberty Experiment! A success!!!!!! WOW

okay. I probably should have posted this a while ago, but whatever. I'm posting it now before I forget. Chase completely blew me away the last time I played with him. Lately we have been having so many partnership issues (I kno it was me, but I didn't kno what to change). Well, turns out he was BORED. We had to move on to the next level (nothing franny ever said, eh? LOL). and I am saving up for the levels, so there. The truck has been out for a week-we're getting a new car as a result. This could possibly mean more Chase time-(the cost of gas prevented me from seeing him as often as I would have liked before) so I'm excited. :D. I'm ecstatic, actually. YES. Because I can't WAIT to play with that little red furball again. Because he BLEW me away. Alright-onto that. I was hanging out with my friend Aletia (we have been spending quite a lot of time together this past month), and we both decided to go see Chase. She loves Chase, and I love taking her and having company. She's really good and seeing his emotions. Anyways, turns out we had no halter. So of course, we decided to play at liberty. I was certain it was going to be a fail-I was sure I was setting it up for failure. I kno, shouldn't have done it if I thought it was going to be that way. But WOW. I let him out of the pasture, and instead of going straight to his stall, he dawdled around. Well, all I had was a carrot stick and savvy string (actually, my apple stick and string lol). So I started out by playing the catching game. You kno-doing the whole predator stance and going around to zone five, and then when he looks, straightening and walking away. Well, eventually he started to ignore me. So I got even more creative. I remembered the tag game I had watched in the savvy club vault, so I altered it a bit. I did the predator stance, raised my stick very obviously, and slapped the ground behind him with the savvy string. At first he went 'WHOA' and took off for a few yards and then looked back at me with a question. :D hehe I'm so clever. So, when he looked at me, I walked away. He went back to sniffing the ground for hay. So I did the crouch and slap the ground again. :D. LOL. after a few more times of that, we were really having fun. I was laughing, he was tossing his head and being snotty, and in no time he was following me at liberty. :) it took a bit more before he went into his stall, but that was fine-I was having so much fun! Lol!
Gave him his food-he hasn't been eating it all lately. So there was a huge pile of food there to begin with, and I got to add to it, LOL. He's bored with the flavor-he eats it all when I put molasses in it. :) anyways, we went into the indoor arena, and I sent him around a circle to start with. LOL. Head tossing, bucking, 'I'm all that and more' attitude. My god has he GROWN. He's GORGEOUS at 8 months. LOL! I feel so blessed to have him. Anyways, he always stopped at the door, so I decided, alright, that's where you change directions, and attempted to guide him out and put a little pressure on zone 5. I did NOT expect him to change directions for me. Not once, or twice, but he was actually fairly consistant about it. He even offered lead changes!!! When he stopped being consistant about changing directions, I asked him to come in. He TROTTED back in. To Aletia, of course, because she was closer to him, but still, he TROTTED. With a positive expression. YES!!! and then we experimented with yoyo. he backup up 8 feet and came back. three times. AT LIBERTY!!! And then we played stick to me-and it was GREAT. Better than his online stick to me!!! WOW!!! then Aletia decided to ty to play the catching game, and I fell over laughing at his expression, and the way Aletia flapped her arms as she retreated. XD!!! She is SO creative. LOLs. Anyways, he took the falling over as a mirroring game, and went down and rolled! WAY cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D:D:D:D:D:D!!! and even let me come up to him and sit next to him while he rolled!!!! WOW!! Oh, not to mention at random times after he would do something, I would somtimes sneak a mint to him. LOL. This was just the boost I needed-I had lost a little faith on how we were going, because it had started to feel like work a bit more than play. But that was just awesome. Just plain awesome. and then I noticed he was breathing hard and sweating a bit, so we walked him around-at liberty! WOW! This is VERY exciting to me!!! That's what DREAMS are made of, right there!!!! I am SO happy!!!!!! alrighty. so-that was it. Chase needs his back feet filed and he needs to be wormed this month still. I'm going to have to wait until next week-my paycheck comes in then. Also, liberty is very revealing-Chase made it very plain we have to play with disengagement. Hmm, how interesting! Alrighty, that's all for now! Ciao!
