Interesting notes today-I went and took cue-tips, and probed the cracks in the heel bulbs on the frogs that were infected. Found out the possible reason as to why his frog isn't healing even though it's being cleaned every day-there's still a whole lot of thrush in between those heel bulbs (and the black gunk that came back on the cue tip smelled horrible. I'll never forget that smell-yuck). According to the article (if I remember correctly), the central sulci is where the growth of the frog horn starts. If that's infected, it makes sense that even if all other parts of the frog are cleaned daily, that the frog wouldn't heal. So I've added daily cleaning with dry cue tips and cue tips covered in peroxide to the mix. We'll see what happens within the next week.
As of now, here's a series of photos of Chase's frogs. The white bubbly stuff is a mixture of the peroxide and bleach dilute reacting with the bacteria. Now, another thing I'm going to point out is that his bars are insanely overgrown (doing them tomorrow). His bars have been growing very fast, possibly as a way to shield the frog from ground contact.
Left Front
The left hind (dark spot at tip of frog is where an abscess blew a few weeks earlier)
Right hind-not real thrushy, but still not nice and fat like the ideal
Right Front
And here's a clip that I've slowed down today of Aly (my little sister) playing with Chase, to see how he's landing. And quite obviously-he is landing toe first, to keep off his sore frogs >.<
Also, in a small sidenote, pulled Chase's mane for the first time today. :D Didn't pull it too short, just took the 'ratty' look out. I'm pretty happy as to how it turned out-it was my first try pulling a mane. I'll get a photo or two of it to put up tomorrow ^_^
